SpacEscape Beta ver 06/Dic/08


-Fixed the terminal to the left of the elevator not working after activating it.
-Fixed a bug on the golem's horny animation that resulted in the chars "flying away to victory".
-Added 2 new attacks and also made it so his slide is not performed as often as before.
-Updated the status menu to show how many extra clothes you have, so now you can check for all 17 items.
-Getting 17/17 items is no longer necessary to unlock difficulties.
-Getting 17/17 is required to unlock the gallery (remember that only grants access to it, you still have to get the animations from the gallery chips or getting raped a lot). You still need to beat the game on all 3 modes tho, I'll correct that, but I'll need to change save variables so it might render older saves null (again).
-Updated Mitsuko's portrait on the tutorial option in the title screen.
-Added Mitsuko's updated portrait next to the sex dialogues window during sex animations.
-More tweaks to the golem so he won't go out of bounds and to improve it's "ai".

Things to look forward in the next update

SpacEscape ver 11/22/18 and Road map.

Now with this sudden "burst" of updates; I figure I should lay down some things so ppl don't get the wrong idea about this (even though I know 90% won't eve read this and still be clueless).

So, as I've said plenty of times; this version of SpacEscape is dead AF, gonna start anew on a better engine, or should I say, a REAL game engine, flash is definitively is not suited for what I'm doing, or how I'm doing it.

That being said, as I've stated on previous occasions, nevertheless, I want to leave this one as polished as possible, so it's is own thing and whatnot. So here's a small list of the goals I want to achieve before I officially finish this beta:

  • Make sure there's no game breaking bugs. AKA, any bug or malfunction that renders the game unplayable and forces you to close and reopen it or render further progression impossible.
  • Finish the GoR CG I had planned.
  • Remake the images that appear on the ending credits; because they suck ass.
Those are the main things I want to do, everything else is secondary, like graphic bugs, glitches and the like. I want to tweak what's already done, and try to balance this thing into something a it more enjoyable, before, there still was the possibility of new stages and enemies, so there was room for improvement down the line, but now that i'ts done regarding content, some changes are in order, like rearranging stage elements, change a music, basically what a remaster means nowadays, trying to improve a game without actually working on it ;V

And now for this new update:

  • Changed some things that may have ppl think there's more to this beta than meets the eye.Specifically:
  1. Updated the gallery so it only shows the four enemies there are.
  2. Removed the damaged doors that were behind the doors you open by having the key cards, I got reports of ppl thinking there was a way to repair them and access more content.
  3. Added a "heads up" screen at the start, a resume of all this changes.
  • Rearranged some collectibles to fill the spaces the damaged doors were using.
  • "Improved" the wolf's ai, wonder if anyone will even notice a change.
  • Updated the title screen with the official font.
  • Added the version number of the beta on the HUD, on the top right were the area name anf FPS counter are.
  • Fixed an erroneous message on the red console left of the elevator.
  • Tweaked the boundaries of the Golem "hide&melt" attack in hopes of preventing him to go out of bounds. Further testing required.

SpacEscape Demo ver111818

No...You're not dreaming, nor is this a cruel April fools joke (it's mid November, com'on guys), you are reading correctly.

Some of you discord lurkers may still remember; I mentioned a couple weeks ago I wanted to start working on the flash version of the game on stream, doing some debugging session real time;you know, leave it as polished as it can be so I can properly close that chapter and the focus on working on the new engine (haven't chose one yet). But the laziness was starting to creep in, so the other day I decided to just go for it, I knew if I set a date it would only end in dis motivation for me. Anyway, long story short, I squashed a couple bugs, that I thought were bugs, but after checking the latest version, they weren't even there, seems in the inter I made quite a few changes, so I ended up having to put the shit into a playable level again, and then I can start the polishing; but no new content, don't go and get your hopes up, this shit is staying like this in terms of content, no sense of adding more shit when I'm about to start anew in a better environment; but, you know, as I've said, I want to leave it as nicely finished as possibly, in case I die during the war, at least that will remain as my legacy ;V

Now, if you excuse me, I'm gonna go to the bunker and cover in fear to the monstrous tidal wave of bug reports incoming after this.

If you would want something in particular for the design on something, do let me know, I have a few more in the making but these are not that time consuming.
One thing I'm debating on, is if I should make these a bit more special by making them only obtainable through purchase, like if I make a draw for a shirt, I don't share the image file anywhere, of course, someone can just take an HD picture of the shirt's image and there you have it, but as I've said, I don't know about it, might be a douchy move to make it so you can only get those images through purchasing something that has it on, and optionally I can put those as unlockables in the game.

More shirts

So, regarding this whole shirt business:
Today I got the shirt I bought from zazzle, and good thing I did, because the quality is far from what I wanted, the image came out very blurry and the print doesn't look like it will withstand many wash cycles.
So I went onto spreadshirt and made a purchase too, hopefully theirs are better, but I'll have to wait until next month to know.

On another, more interesting to you hentai waiting lurkers :V I want to completely close the SpacEscape Flash chapter, so next(s) stream(s) will be dedicated (as I have proposed on the steam schedule) to nail once and for all all those pesky bugs that remain in the final build, so I can leave it behind me and have it as a legacy version. So, take out your notepads and start documenting those bugs, I will be debugging real time, no rest until clear.

Note that this is just for the purpose to leave behind something completely playable (at least as much as I can), so don't go and start suggesting things to add. Things is perfectly sized for a demo.

Thinking on this whole patreon thing, I was trying to come up with ways to make it so not blatantly empty and at least have something going on. So I was thinking on making more of a focus on streaming, which I need to do more often anyways, so, anyways, I came up with this draft for tentative content:

And also made this poll to try to decide the best time for the streams (normally I try to go for 8:00pm-12:00am UTC-6), but I would like to try to optimize that as possible, because, as you might guess, there's little point on streaming if no one is able to watch due to the time zones.

Patreon; it's happening. Only for tips for now. If I figure out a way to have rewards I will; although it would be for the art side of things (it can be draws and animations of Mitsuko too, but that only if I have rewards and shit). As far as for the game; I'll make one when/if I have my own place finally. Lately commission work has been pretty much dead, so it looks like I will shift to work on the game full time if I want to go full solo living.

What, who? Me?

So update...updates...

It's been a busy few last weeks, with the whole updating my prices and getting commissions in the middle of that.
I did however, started to watch tutorials on youtube about clickteam fusion. gotta say, it's not looking too promising, the program seems poorly optimized for game development, a bit too convoluted on how it structures things; also saw a lot of premade stuff, so I guess it will all came down to how powerful its code language is, how well documented is, and how good are the tutorials I find, because one thing is for sure, I won't waste time trying to learn it by myself, if there's too few documentation about it, I'll skip it and move onto Game Maker.

Btw, did anyone saw this? Someone commissioned another pic of Mitsuko. (yeah yeah, I know, I just didn't know what else to put on the post)

More Testing

This is going more with a fantasy like feel than the sci fi I want; although, you can pretty much justify any crazy monster in sci fi too right? What can I say? Succubus is my fav monstergirl so.

At least I got a new enemy out if it: The Flying Bat-Dick; just like how Morrigan has her trusty bats that carry her bags when shopping, she has her dicl-bats to fuck any silly kitty that comes too near… Which totally weren’t inspired by the flying banana penis I did on that Dixie Kong study, or the flying musical dicks from the draws of the melodious monsters from yugioh :V. But I digress.

The whole idea behind her was to have an enemy in the game like the SA-X from Metroid Fusion, because you know, I’m original like that. So that ny something or someone a copy of Mitsuko is made and now you have a nemesis like enemy hunting you throughout the game. Another idea is that whatever place Mitsuko is, there’s this overwhelming lustful influence that outright gives her lust physical form, albeit not stable, so she wants Mitsuko’s body, so in the end both will become one again, nut it would be like a fight to see who absorbs who, if Mitsuko absorbs her lust side and remains the same,, or her lust absorbs her and she becomes the sex mistress of the place, there’s a couple endings right there.

Ok so I think I've seen enough of Godot to have a basic feeling on how it works and how would it be to make SpacEscape on it, I didn't made an hp bars or enemies, but that's just animation playing at certain conditions, pretty much like the player states (like jumping and running), if I decided to stay on Godot, there will be plenty of time to overcome any obstacles that appear.

So this would be the "final" version of that:


Next I'm going to try Multimedia Fusion, mainly because since I haven't seen any good/complex games made on it, I think it's not very powerful so I will quickly realize it's not the right program, but we'll see, there's also how well documented it is. I will attempt to do exactly the same I did on Godot and then moving on to the next program.

After that will be Game Maker's turn, pretty popular program, and has been around for a long time. And I'll leave for last Unreal and Unity.

Don't bother reporting bugs back, it's gonna be a LOOOONG time IF/WHEN I return to Godot.

More development, less fapping :D
Then again, I'm getting some interesting ideas for if/when I implement this recharge stations.

So, onto the progress thingy. No new demo to download yet; I've been tiding things up, making the controls as tight as I can; no much new anyway, just jumping and crouching attacks; I prefer to spent more time making sure everything works nice rather than just add shit and have it all fall apart.

Right now I'm trying to figure it out how Godot goes about using the GUI nodes, in the other hand, I'm trying to make the slide like in MM games where if you slide into a small corridor the slide persists until you get out of it; I though the is_on:ceiling function would be enough, but it doesn't trigger with the slide collision box, so when the slide ends you get stuck on the walls. Also waiting to get to the tutorials part (if there's one) that explains better collission boxes, because I need to be able to implement dynamic ones, I found a way myself, but I'm not sure if I found the right way, or just managed to do it very impractically.

Aside from that, I can now warp to different stages, and make the dbl jump to carry over and the item doesn't appear again if you already collected it. So that's basic movement, items and potential save file already tackled, remaining is health bars, enemies and sex animations, then I can move to another engine to test. But who knows how much will it take, so far I'd say I'm like halfway into the road map, so far things have been easy to do, but no one knows what future may hold. (that last line is a ref)

Keep developing your game, and start making some new pervy crouch animation and end up doodling a sex animation instead and waste your day fapping away to victory...

Although I would be lying if I said I didn't liked it :V Specially the tittie bounce, but I do think the first one looks better, the other one I got a bit lazy a pulled a ToonPimp on it X(

Well, this is what I manged to get in these past few days, Godot (which apparently is pronounced Godó) seems very friendly, just as I imagined, a lot of shit is simplified in comparison from what I had to do in Flash.


Still very basic shit, so don't get your hopes high, I just started watching tutorials. Still haven't got to health bars and enemies, and I need to search advanced tutorials to see how do you implement dynamic hitboxes and the ins and outs of working with non 8bit frames for the animations.

-The slide can be canceled with jump, and by switching to the other direction.
-Replicated FlashMan's Stage from MM2 just for fun
-Should detect gamepads
-The punch animation seemed to get stuck sometimes (just jump to get out of it) but I couldn't get what are the conditions for that, try mashing with directions, see if you can figure that one out.

First steps in Godot...

So, today I spent the day watching video tutorials for Godot, all beginner stuff, getting to know the Ui, how things are structured, nothing too practical for now. Hopefully next time I would have gotten to the juicy part of input keys and whatnot and I can actually upload the first ever  "playable" version.

Next project that will never be done: My version of a Monster girl Battle-Fuck RPG

I got my last straw the other day when, yet again, I foolishly went and see what new H games were around, and after being disappointed again, I decided to teach these mofos how a good H BFRPG is made. (Like seriously, every monstergirls game I've ever tried has been a let down, even those monstergirl quest ones, imo Erotical Night is the best, but that doesn't mean it's good) 

Though kinda random I started with a harpy, but meh, I didn't really knew which monstergirl was good to start, I didn't wanted to start with the slime, that's for sure.

It's a me, Urielman!

So, I just dropped by the other day and saw a high amount of comments on the "deep" animation, and  I didn't remembered so many, I guess that shows you how long has it been since I checked my own blog :P

Anyway, after reading some nice warmful comments, specially the angry ones (no, really, I'm glad that the game can still induce such a reaction, it means they really care :') I know because I would do the same). But I gotta say, some of you give me too much credit T-T

So, I decided I've tortured you enough so here's an update of me lifes that no one cares about.
Basically, no progress on godot, I hate the winter season, believe it or not, the cold makes me even more lazy, I even haven't drawn much at all, just commissions, not playing much either, just some Skyrim now that I noticed the script extender was released for the special edition, oh and a bit of Subnautica that just released, haven't got that since it was very early access.

So, as I've put on the picarto channel, I kinda want to wait until the cold settles down a bit (you have no idea how cold my room gets, like cooler than the outside, and no, I have no heater, I'm too cheap to buy one), to restart the streams and honestly everything else in general, having your feet into ice blocks and your fingers into popsickles somewhat deters me from wanting to do anything. You could say everything is "frozen" for now, no? ok...

I know, I know, "what the hell am I doing with my life" "I'm even serious anymore?" "Do I even care?"

The answers to all these and more will less likely be reveled in the next Bat-episode, at the same Bat-hour.

Besides, I've been doing this shit for 9 years, what's o a couple more? :P
